Baume & Mercier is the 6th oldest watchmaker still in operation today. Founded in 1830 and selling exquisite pocket watches out of a small Shop in Switzerland the brand quickly began to expand. By the 1850s they had shops in multiple countries. In 1919 the 3rd generation of the Baume Family and their new partner Paul Mercier who worked as a jeweler, was awarded the prestigious Poincon de Geneve for their watchmaking paved the way for the newly popular wrist watch.
